The Lake Parks Foundation provides scholarships to students through special requests to participate in programs and activities. More than 900 students are annually awarded scholarships and camperships.

In 2019, over 500 school children were able to participate in learning experiences at the Lake Metroparks with support from Lake Parks Foundation and its donors. These students came from all areas across Lake County including Painesville and Mentor as well as outside the county from Ashtabula to Aurora.

These unique education experiences at Lake Metroparks encourage investigation in science concepts, farming, nature, and wildlife as well as outdoor education. Through hands-on learning adventures in science, social studies and math, students are better able to understand the world around them and foster life-long love for nature and promote its preservation.

Programs are available year-round for all group sizes including individual classrooms and individual students.

Scholarships are provided to students at local schools, preschools and homeschool (e-school) students by application to the Lake Metroparks. Some of the programs supported have included the Apollo project, Operation Worm Watch, Soap Bubble Chemistry and Stream Study as well as Kayak and Fishing Adventures.

For additional question or to obtain the application for scholarship assistance from you may call the Lake Metroparks at 440-358-7275.
